Reporting to the Manager of Lifecycle Maintenance Engineering, the Lifecycle Engineer will be part of AltaLink’s Asset Management department. The Lifecycle Management team’s goal is to direct the optimization and balance of cost, risk and performance for AltaLink’s power system assets and systems throughout their lifecycle. This is done by creating and implementing cradle to grave “Whole of Life” asset plans; by assessing and trending risk, capital/operating expenditures and system performance; by applying lifecycle models and methodologies; and by creating a long term view of maintenance activities and corresponding investment requirements. By understanding the cost, risk and performance implications of asset management decisions, AltaLink will ensure that the needs of the power system are balanced with the needs of end users.
The Lifecycle Engineer will work with numerous teams and subject matter experts to define, implement, and evolve lifecycle plans and assessments. The engineer will ensure asset plans are included in the long term work forecast and participate in the creation of business cases to support AltaLink’s multi-year tariff filing with the Alberta Utilities Commission (General Tariff Application).
